Reduce the risk of suffocation, strangulation, and falls during sleep for infants under 5 months old.
What are “baby sleep products”?
According to the definitions in 16 CFR Part 1236 and ASTM F3118-17a, baby sleep products refer to:
Structural Features: Designed specifically for infants under 5 months old, featuring a stable sleep support device with an incline of ≤10 degrees.
Functional Purpose: To provide a safe sleeping environment for infants.
Testing and Certification Requirements
Third-party testing:
Baby sleep products must be tested by a third-party laboratory accredited by the CPSC to ensure compliance with 16 CFR Part 1236/ASTM F3118-17a standards and all other applicable rules for the safety of children’s products.
Child Product Certificate (CPC):
Domestic manufacturers or importers must issue a Child Product Certificate (CPC) based on the results of third-party testing, with the following clearly stated in Part 2 of the certificate (Reference Standards): “16 CFR Part 1236 – Infant sleep products.”
