Applicability: Toys and components intended for children under 14 years of age (excluding chemical toys and experimental kits, which are governed by other EN 71 parts), packaging materials of no play value are excluded. Key Terms:Harmful organic compounds include plasticizers, formaldehyde, flame retardants, and other organic substances that pose potential hazards to human health.
Testing and Certification Requirements:
Core testing: Detection of organic compound levels/migration for exposure pathways such as inhalation, skin contact, oral ingestion, covering key substances like phthalates and formaldehyde.
Certification Compliance: Requires testing by a laboratory recognized by the EU, with reports demonstrating full project compliance. Products must display warning information as required (if applicable).
