Core purpose

of regulating baby carriages, The structural stability,material safety and risk control of the wheelbarrow prevent accidents such as clipping, overturning and chemical exposure, and ensure the travel safety of children under 4 years of age.


Standard definition

SOR /2016-167 is the original mandatory travel product safety regulation, and the current effective replacement version is SOR /2023-101 (effective June 2023). The 180-day transition period, which applies to strollers and carts carrying children under 4 years of age,meets physical mechanical requirements related to ASTM F833 or ISO 31110, and is the core compliance standard for the Canadian children's mobility products market.


Testing and certification requirements

Products are subject to full testing by an ISO 17025 accredited Iaboratory. The core requirements are as follows:

Structural safety: Physical and mechanical requirements are to be met by ASTM F833 (except for chemical, toy and text in form ation provisions) or ISO 31110 (except for the chemical, fire and text information clauses); The wheels are wear-resistant, the handles are strong, and the overall stability passes the overtumning test; Anti-jamming and anti-clamping: Meets the requirements of ASTM F833 Section6.8 (Foot Opening) and 6.10 (Risk of Car Seat Clamping);

Material Safety: Hazardous substances such as carbon tetrachloride, benzene, boracic acid and ether are banned Surface coating total lead  90mgl/kg, antimony\/ arsenic\/cadmium\/selenium\/ barium complex migration s 1000mg\/ kg, total mercury s 10mg\/ kg;DEHP\/ DBP\/ BBP\/ DINP\/DIDP\/ DNOP in vinyl materials meet the SORI/ 2016-188 limit,

Requirements for marking:a permanent bilingual English and French label containing manufacturer information, product model and year of manufacture; The height of the warning words is  2.5mm, and the words "Do not leave children unattended" and "Use the restraint system" are marked. Meeting the requirements of the current alternative regulations is a mandatory condition for theentry of stroller-type products into the Canadian market.
