EN 16232 Products for use and care of children - Baby rocking chairs
Primary Purpose:
Objective To regulate the design and safety of baby rocking chair, to prevent accidents such as dumping, overturning, suffocation, clipping, etc., and to ensure the physical safety of infants 0-12 months of age (weight 9 kg) during rest and play.
Standard Definition:
EN 16232 is a special safety specification for baby leisure products, the current latest version is EN 16232: 2018, in line with the EU GPSD directive and REACH regulations. It applies to domestic lacquered baby rocking chairs (including electric ones) and does not apply to foldable portable cradles, and is the core compliance standard for the EU market.
Testing and certification requirements:
The product needs to be fully tested by an EU-recognized third-party laboratory as the basis for CE certification. The core requirements are as follows:

ldentification requirements: affix a permanent warning label, clearly "0-6 months of infants to be used on the back, the whole care" (font 4mm), marked applicable weight and use of environmental requirements. Meeting the requirements of this standard is a sine qua non condition for the product to be allowed to enter the EU market.
