It is a core compliance standard for the EU market.
Testing and Certification Requirements:
Products must undergo comprehensive testing by recognized third-party laboratories in the EU to serve as the basis for obtaining CE certification. The key requirements are:
Structural Safety: The breaking strength of the webbing must be >1500N, and the clasp must withstand 5000 cycles of opening and closing without loosening. The harness's retractable mechanism must withstand 500N of pulling without failure. Prevention of Choking and Suffocation: The shortest length of the harness must be 21.2 m, and the longest length must be <1.8 m. There must be no entanglement design, and the emergency release function must respond within 1 second. Material Safety: The coating must have lead s90 ppm and cadmium s75 ppm, and the total amountof six phthalates must be s0.1%. The fabric must pass a wear resistance test of >4 levels.
Marking Requirements: A permanent warning label must be affixed, clearly stating "Requires adult supervision. Not for use in motor vehicles" (font size 24 mm). It must also include the standard number and compliance information. Meeting these standards is a mandatory condition for products to be allowed to enter the EU market.
