EN 1888-1: Wheeled Child Carriages - Part 1: Strollers and Cradles.

Core Purpose:

This EU mandatory standard regulates the safety of wheeled child carriages (strollers, cradles)to prevent risks such as tipping, entrapment, falls, entanglement, chemical hazards, and ensure the safety of infants and toddlers.


Standard Definition:

Applicable: walkers designed for infants who can sit independently to those who can walk independently, with a weight limit of s12 kg.

Not applicable: therapeutic walkers, inflatable support walkers, and toy-typewalkers. 


Testing and Certification Requirements:

Testing: structural strength, stability / anti tip, anti-step fall, speed limiter, anti-pinch / anti-sharp edges, seat safety, folding lock, chemical (EN71/REACH), fire retardancy. Certification: ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory testing, CE marking, with warning and usage instructions affixed.
