Standard Definition:
ASTM F2906 is the core safety specification for bedside sleepers issued by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). The current latest version is ASTM F2906-23 (effective January 2023). It has been incorporated into 16 CFR 1222 by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and is a mandatory requirementfor products fixed on one side of an adult bed to provide a close sleeping space for infants.It is also a prerequisite for market entry and CPC certification in North America.
Testing and Certification Requirements:
Must undergo testing by a laboratory accredited by ISO 17025. Key requirements include: Structural Safety: All railing heights meet standards (in accordance with ASTM F2194 requirements), and static load tests show no breakage;
Connection Stability: The connection device to the adult bed passes a pull test without loosening orfalling off;
Assembly Requirements: Provide clear assembly instructions and prevent incorrect assembly of critical components;
Marking Requirements: Indicate the applicable age range and safety warnings (e.g., regularly check connection stability, do not place soft items).
