Primary Purpose:

Preventing risks such as tipping over, structural failure, entanglement,and crushing injuries to ensure the safety of infants and toddlers hasbeen incorporated into 16 CFR Part 1223 by the CPSC, which servesas the legal entry threshold for the North American market.

Developing Organization: ASTM International (F1s Committee onInfant Products).

Current Version: ASTM F2088-24 (effective from 2024-09-14,replacing F2088-22).

Applicable: Power-driven (battery/power/spring-powered), infantsit-swing chairs, cradle swings, and combination models that canswing back and forthleft and right/curved; includes travel models(with seat base height I52 mm).Excluded: non-motorized swings,hanging cradles intended for sleep,and other non-swing infant products.

Testing and Certification Requirements:

Structure: withstands 3 times the nominal load (>34 kg) without failure, remains upright at an angle of 20°, and has gaps  5 mm or  12 mm.

Restraints: five-point safety harness withstands≥111 N of force, latch prevents accidental opening, and strap prevents entanglement.

Electrical (electric models) :motor operation maintains temperature s 71°C for 1 hour, prevents electrical leakage and overheating.

Chemistry: total lead s100 ppm, 8 individual phthalates 0.1%.

Marking and Compliance: includes markings for manufacturer,applicable age range, ASTM F2088-24, and safety warnings;undergoes ISO 17025 laboratory testing with a CPC certificate required for market entry.
